Course Introduction:
All HND Computing students are required to complete a common first year (HNC Computing: Progression to HND in Computer Science or Software Development) and, in the second year, select either HNDs in Software Development or Computer Science. This structure furnishes them with a foundation in both Software Development and Computer Science, enabling informed choices before specializing. The HND Software Development offers students advanced knowledge for a successful career in software technology. The course imparts a comprehensive range of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in configuring, designing, building, and maintaining websites, as well as software testing. Moreover, this course enables students to work towards up-to-date vendor-specific certifications in many of the skills that are in demand for various careers in web development, web applications, and mobile technology.

What will you study?
Students will study a selection of appropriate networking units designed to develop student’s skills and competencies to enable further study in any university undergraduate networking or computing programme.

This course integrates learning materials from industry standard vendors such as Microsoft, CIW, Oracle and CompTIA which can help to prepare students for a variety of vendor certification exams.
On completion of this certificate or during the course, units relevant to any particular vendor’s certification students can appear to equip themselves with the global recognised and contemporary employers demand qualification from any of the following:
The Oracle, CIW and Microsoft curriculum are embedded within this qualification. Candidates are expected to fund the cost of the vendor certification examinations. Being a partner with Pearson & Certiport Testing Centre we can get student’s discounted exam vouchers. Tutors will also help students in preparing for any Vendors specific exam they would like to appear for.
Vendor qualifications are certificated in addition to the HND award and significantly enhance candidates’ employability.
