Course Introduction

The CompTIA A+ certificate is widely recognized and prepares the individual to enter the market as PC Technician. The CompTIA A+ certification is the industry standard for validating vendor-neutral skills expected for an entry level computer technician and will open the door for an exciting career in computer technology.

This course is also known as Gateway to IT world.

 

Course Description

The CompTIA A+ certification ensures that the successful candidate has the important knowledge and skills necessary. CompTIA A+ certification exam objectives and provide expertise to work with mobile devices, networking technology, hardware, installing and configuring operating systems, expanded security, software troubleshooting, and more.

CompTIA A+ 220-1101 covers mobile devices, networking technology, hardware, virtualization and cloud computing and network troubleshooting. CompTIA A+ 220-1102 covers installing and configuring operating systems, expanded security, software troubleshooting and operational procedures.

 

Prerequisites

Basic Computer understanding- No prerequisite set up by CompTIA

Exams & Recommended Training

Candidates can choose any of the following exam certifications:

Exam Title: CompTIA A+

Exam Code: 220 -1101 AND 220 -1102

 

SQA Framework:

The CompTIA A + program also offers a number of shorter curricula which are related to SQA standalone HN Units. These are also assessed by means of restricted response questions and practical labs and so can give credit transfer to complete units. Learner can earn up to 48 credits upon passing all exams successfully. All SQA exams costs are included in the funding.

 

Hands on Experience

We have a work shop/ Lab where we provide all types of PC, Laptop spare parts to get experience. Students will get the chance to assemble and disassemble desktop and /Laptop computers under the supervision of our accredited and experienced Instructors. Installing Operating Systems, Configuring WLAN, Shared Printer Networking etc.

 

Classes Duration:

This course will be delivered 4 hours a day every week, one full classroom and will run for 22 weeks.

 

Modes of Learning:

You have the option of undertaking this course via following learning modes:

1.) Face to Face Classroom based Learning: You will attend the class each week on the day and time mentioned above.

2.) Virtual Learning: Live traditional face to face class will broadcast to all virtual learners each week on a specified time.

3.) Blended Learning: Mixture of Face to face and Virtual learning (must inform when joining the course).

4.) eLearning/online version is available. You will not attend a weekly class with instructor and instead complete the work in your own time.

 

Instructions on How to apply for the course?

To secure your spot in the desired course, it’s essential to fill out the ITPT Course Admission form. Please ensure that you complete the general ITPT admission form, indicating your preferred learning mode, whether it’s Face to Face, Blended, or Virtual. The ITPT Course Admission form can be conveniently filled out electronically and returned via email.

1st Step: Please fill the ITPT admission – application form.

2nd Step: and then submit the course funding application directly to SAAS (details are below) , please see under “How to apply for course funding heading” for more details, it’s easy and simple way to submit digitally, if any problem let us know.

We can send you the admission form and further information via email.

In addition to the funding application student must fill ITPT course admission application form so we can reserve the place while their SAAS funding application is in process. Any student who do not inform us then their place in the course will not be guaranteed as we have minimum places to offer to SAAS funded students/learners.

 

Students intending to use SAAS Part Time Fee Grant to fund their studies should apply well prior to the course starting dates. In some cases we allow students to enrol while their funding is in process, if the course date is near or gone past but they have to provide the proof that their funding has been applied to SAAS PTFG and is in under process.

 

How to apply for the Course Funding from Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS) PTFG:

SAAS Part Time full funding is available for this course and the course training will be totally free for eligible candidates only. This is a grant not a loan and the funding covers the full cost of our designated courses including the SQA relevant exams.

(Funding application applying from March 31st to July)

Learners intending to apply for courses in the 2023-2024 session from March 31st onward are required to complete and submit a paper application form directly to SAAS PTFG.

  • Paper application form can either be requested through their web chat (open 9:00am to 4:00pm, Monday, Wednesday and Friday) OR

Please note that the paper funding application form does not need to be validated by us anymore.
