1: Weekly Classes:
Our weekly lessons are tutor-led, taught in person at our Edinburgh centre, aimed at students studying SQA National 5 Computing Science. The hour-long class will allow for a deeper and more impactful learning experience compared to traditional classes at school. The lessons also provide an opportunity to fill gaps in knowledge that students may have due to absence from school.
Our fully qualified SQA Assessors/Tutors will deliver high quality lessons on the set content for each lesson, ensuring each student reach his full potential. We closely follow SQA to incorporate any course updates into the lesson content.
In addition, students will also be provided ITPT Moodle access to utilise uploaded digital learning materials to aid in learning more from home.
2: Special Prelims Classes:
We have arranged special 4-hourly prelims sessions to help students optimise their prelim score and improve predicted grades on Saturdays, for four consecutive weeks. During these sessions, student will gain a thorough revision experience and will learn the SQA exam techniques. Upon completion of prelim sessions, they will be self-confident and prepared to sit for the Nat 5 Computing Science SQA assessment.
As a private training provider, we specialise in teaching IT related subjects for SCQF level 7, 8 & 9 as well as to HNC & HND levels. This experience places our tutors in good stead to know the key areas, skills and question types for the prelims. We prepare students using past papers, focussing on not only the instructor-led theoretical knowledge but also the supervised practical experience. Our courses incorporate intensive and extensive hands-on exercises to boost the theoretical knowledge of our students with practical expertise.
3: Easter Revisions Classes:
The computing science NAT5 boot camp will cover topics such as Computer Systems, Database Design & Development, Software Design & Development, and Web Design & Development as follows:
Teaching and revising in-depth the key areas of SQA National 5 in Computing Science
Evaluating and completing exam standard questions
Analysing the SQA marking instructions
Developing exam technique, knowledge consolidation and problem solving skills
Subsequent ongoing tutor support online via Microsoft Teams, students can ask questions, seek support and download learning materials. Learning materials will be available digitally available through ITPT Moodle.
We use SQA past papers and our own exam papers. Answering past papers helps you to work out which topics you know really well and figure out what gaps you need to fill in. By testing your knowledge you can check your revision progress and feel more confident about what you already know.
Test your knowledge:
We will evaluate students existing knowledge with the help of an aptitude test.
