Introduction:
The Cisco IT Essentials course covers the fundamentals of PC hardware and software as well as advanced concepts. It is designed for students who want to pursue careers in ICT and students who want to gain practical knowledge of how a computer works. IT Essentials: PC Hardware and Software encourages students to explore networking concepts using tools such as Packet Tracer. Packet Tracer is a powerful network simulation tool developed by Cisco that allows students to experiment with network behavior and develop critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills while gaining practical knowledge.
The Cisco IT Essentials SQA Hardware and Software curriculum supports candidates who want to prepare for entry-level positions in the IT field. Candidates to prepare for applied network configuration and troubleshooting skills, and communication skills.
The Cisco IT Essential based on CompTIA A+ certification is the first step of your professional IT journey. It is the ideal foundational certification to get started on a career working with leading-edge information technologies.

Course Description:
Upon completion of the ITE course, students will be able to do the following:
Select the appropriate computer components to build, repair, or upgrade personal computers.
Install components to build, repair, or upgrade personal computers.
Select the appropriate computer components to match system requirements and to adhere to environmental disposal methods.
Perform troubleshooting on personal computers.
Explain how computers communicate on a network.
Configure devices to communicate on a network.
Explain how to troubleshoot laptops and other mobile devices.
Install a printer to meet requirements.
Explain virtualization and cloud computing.
Install Windows operating systems.
Perform management and maintenance of Windows operating systems.
Explain how to configure, secure, and troubleshoot mobile, MacOS, and Linux operating systems.
Implement basic host, data, and network security.
Explain the roles and responsibilities of the IT Professional.

Hands-on Experience:
We have a workshop where we provide all types of PC, Laptop spare parts to our learners to get experience. Students will get the chance to assemble and disassemble desktop and /or Laptop computers under the supervision of our experienced IT support Associate.
Exam Certification Preparation:
In order to receive the certificate for the Cisco IT Essential student must do CompTIA A+ certification; student must pass two exams;
Candidates can choose any of the following exam certifications:

SQA Framework:
The Cisco IT Essential program also offers a number of shorter curricula that are related to SQA standalone HN Units. These are also assessed by means of restricted response questions and practical labs and so can give credit transfer to complete units. Learners can earn up to 48 credits upon passing all exams successfully.

Learning Modes:
You have the option of undertaking this course via following learning modes:
1.) Face to Face (Classroom based Learning): You will attend the class each week on its specified day and time at your designated centre (Edinburgh or Glasgow)
2.) Virtual Learning: Live traditional face to face class will broadcast remotely via our online settings through Microsoft Team
3.) Blended Learning: Mixture of Face to face and Virtual learning (must inform when joining the course).

This course is funded by SAAS part-time funding which is available to eligible individuals only;

Students do not need to pay it back as this is a grant, not a loan.
This funding is different from full-time funding which can be applied by someone who was previously granted a degree, postgrad, or any other full-time studies (HNC/HND), etc.
Part-time funding cannot be received in the same session if one is already receiving any part/full-time funding for other courses.
Part-Time funding can only be used for one course per academic year.
SAAS part-time funding academic year starts from Aug to July.
