Course Introduction

Course Title: HND Computing: Networking

Modes of Study:

The HND Networking will provide you advanced knowledge for a successful career in networking technology. The course provides a comprehensive range of knowledge and practical skills in configuring, designing, building and maintaining computer network infrastructures.

This course will allow students to study towards up-to-date Vendor specific certifications in many of the skills that are in demand for many different types of career in Networking.

At ITPT we have organised several live labs which are fully equipped with the latest routers, switches & servers. In our labs learners will have the opportunity to build and configure Local Area Networks and learn how to implement secure servers. You will learn to install and configure network operating systems, how to configure Active Directory, DNS, DHCP. Students will also install and configure virtual environments using VMware. There is also a strong emphasis on network security.

What will you study?

Students will study a selection of appropriate networking units designed to develop student’s skills and competencies to enable further study in any university undergraduate networking or computing programme.

The HND Computing from ITPT offers a range of broad based computing support and networking modules including modules that cover elements of the Cisco CCNA.

Entry Requirements

  • Minimum Entry Requirements:
  • Must possess HNC in Computing or relevant
  • Must possess HNC in Computer Networking or relevant
  • Mature candidates without the necessary minimum qualifications, will be considered on an individual basis.
  • Other equivalent qualifications or experience will also be considered

 

Additional Selection Requirements: 

All applications are subject to an interview to assess suitability in terms of academic qualifications and motivation. Reference will also be considered.

Students will be invited for a group and/or individual interview where they will get the opportunity to find out more about the course.
